We had our celebratory party today. It was weird because they were all saying goodbye, but I can't imagine leaving. These kids are awesome, and I completely loved my experience with them! I got so many cards... And hugs!! Today was a very emotional day. But it's not goodbye yet, Darby creek! I'll be back.
Today was the end of my 6 weeks at Darby creek! And it was a blast being here. Later we will have a party to celebrate! I want to stay in this class forever! They might have convinced me to be an elementary school teacher.. Oh the decisions! But I'm excited to get a new experience in a different environment. So long Darby creek. Thanks for having me!
Today I got to experience helping with a walk-a-thon at my school. It was the first time my class was ever a mess and loud. For the first time it wasn't so bad. But I'm glad I was able to have the experience of helping put a classroom together in a time of caos.
Today was the end of my 4th week at Darby Creek. It's been the best working with these kids. Today they even begged me not leave! I wasn't expecting to love working with elementary school kids. But I really do! Hopefully in the last 2 weeks I'll learn how to work with them and make it less awkward.
For the first time today I ran morning meeting!! The kids really loved my activity ( which was making up a story and one kid would say a sentence to add on to the story).
It was a little awkward but i did learn from it and I'm excited to try it again and have it run smoother!
The first picture is of some of the responses I got this morning for the morning meeting question " what animal would you like as a pet and why?"
The second is my elementary school class. The girls were very upset today when they found out I'll be leaving in three weeks. I wish I wasn't!! I love this class!!
Today I met the long term sub. Today wasn't bad, but there are definitely differences in the way my teachers taught this class. Good learning experience for how I want to be when I'm a teacher!
Today my kids found out that my teacher had her baby early! This was their reaction.
Today during morning meeting we asked the kids what they would ask the president. Here are some of their answers: " I don't know what I would ask him but I don't want Donald trump to win", " can I take your job?"," why can't kids vote?", and my favorite, " why does food have to be healthy?"
